Perhaps this is thanks to the fact that the group was created with a fighting spirit, each member battling their way through the reality survival show NO.MERCY, which pitted 12 trainees from their label Starship Entertainment against one another in a grueling elimination process. The truth is, few other current K-pop groups continually make as much as noise as Monsta X, with their signature aggressive style — a combination of hip-hop, EDM, and straight-up pop – from the cranking beats of “Hero” to their latest, “Beautiful,” which oscillates between sensuous and spiky.
